This the front of our Church here in Falmouth. Seen from all angles, it over looks Arwenack street, it all looks beautiful in the summer with all the flowers out on the Kings Head nextdoor. We quite often have wonderful displays of flowers for weddings & festivals; these flowers are just what we normally have.

Nearly a year ago since Ellen MacArthur sailed into Falmouth, the record books and the hearts of all those who live here, even now it is still amazing.
I don't know if you can pick out the shipwreck against the foot of the cliff in the centre of the picture. It was wrecked a few years ago. Wonderful view of the Longships rocks at Lands End. These great rocks of batholith, volcanic rock that forms the backbone of Cornwall, have eroded till they look like they might be easily pushed over. Hope to be able to share some great news soon! meanwhile here some more pictures of Lands End from saturday when I took Matt and Jess out for abreak.

yes they had come all the way from NZ, who hasn't been here and not fallen for this, we had our photo taken here on honeymoon over 30 years ago! Land's End is a great favourite with many overseas visitors still, everyone wants a photo with the fameous signpost and today was no exception! Not many seagulls about to mob us thankfully, they are a huge vicious menace here in Cornwall. We parked the car at Sennen and walked the mile of cliff path round to Land's End in the most beautiful weather on wednesday. The scenery is just brilliant and because it is January hardly any other people about.
Trebah is very innovative in the way it sets out to catch the eye! A bit like the Eden Project in the way they educate and excite the jaded tourist. The giant Rhubarb( Gunnera) creates an alien landscape in winter and an amazing jungle in the summer. This garden is very wild and exciting for kids and has the bonus of a beautiful beach at the end of the valley. Come the summer this is Trebah!

Some of the rowers on theHelford near Frenchman's Creek. A few pictures Chris took last April on the Helford river from a gig boat.
Gig Rowing is a very popular and growing sport here in Cornwall. Our son Chris rows for the Helford River Gig Club. He will be rowing in the world championships this spring on The Isles of Scilly this is really fun. have a look at the website.www.helfordrivergigclub.co.uk

Cattle on Rosemullion. Gorse in bloom always cheers up the winter. More of last sunday's walk, looking towards The Lizard. The picture with the ship, is facing towards Rosemullion Head with St Anthony's Head and Lighthouse in the far background. The ship is pointing to the entrance to the Carrick Roads where Falmouth harbour lies. Many cruise ships call here as well as ships for repair and bunkering (refueling).
